Logan

I know this sounds horrible, but I really don't like one of our dogs.

I can tell you that it was the day my husband introduced me to Logan. Before we were married, my husband stood me up for a date to get him, and I guess that really was the point when the dislike began.

My hubby describes Logan as his best buddy, and many times Logan has slept in the middle of us with my husband's arm around him. My husband would rather cuddle with his dog than with his wife -- so yeah I was jealous, and my husband never got it. Why wouldn't I envy his relationship with his dog?

Well, now things have gotten even worse. Logan is almost nine years old, and his behavior is just absolutely disgusting. He chews his finger nails. Yeah... the dog chews his finger nails. He's never liked having his nails clipped, and I've never been able to figure out why. He's never had a bad experience; so I guess it's just his thing. But since he refuses to get his nails clipped, he chews on them. It's destroyed his teeth, so now after a session of nail chewing, he makes these slurping sounds. The vet says he's completely healthy -- so I can only describe his behavior as gross! Beyond the nail biting, he is a baby! He is the only male in a pack of four, and he's the oldest. Granted, he really isn't what you would call a senior. When he wants to, he can run faster than the girls, and when he wants to he can growl louder than the girls -- but he is a baby! He loves his couch, but when all the girls are on the couch, and there's no room for him; he cries. He whimpers to my husband and me, and he won't shut up until we get one or more of the girls off the couch so he can fit. It's ridiculous. He'll growl at the girls if they come near his food and he'll growl at them when he doesn't want to be bothered by their play -- but if they take over his couch, he acts like a toddler who lost his toy.

Anyway, yeah, I don't like one of our dogs, but nothing I can say will change my husband's feelings for Logan. Logan is still his best pal, his drinking buddy, and his best football bud. So, what's a girl to do?
